What were you doing, fanwise, in 2003?
Begun in March 1973 as a part of the national Star Trek Association for Revival, STAR OKC was central Oklahoma's most influential seedbed of fandom through 2005. ..... This blog exists to document fandom in central Oklahoma. The area was home to PsurrealCon/PseudoCon, ThunderCon, and Soonercon (née SoonerCon) -- all begun or supported by members of STAR OKC.

ThunderCon 2 in '92!
Sounds like a great campaign slogan, eh?
Above are the front and back of the only flyer I have. (Some other TCons had more than one version of the flyer.)
And above is Scooter's badge.

NOSFAratu and Russell Bates
Presented by the Norman Oklahoma Science Fiction Association, and sponsored by Southside/Planet Comics, it was NOSFAratu.
I don't remember a dang thing about it. The month or day? Nope. However, I have proof that i was there! You see, the briefcase was mine, and the stuff you see on it was the stuff I was trying to sell. That means I had a dealer's table. Oh, and the guy making like a model for an instant-camera commercial? That's the late lamented Russell Bates, native Oklahoman and author of the STTAS episode "How Sharper Than a Serpent's Tooth." I'd met him at BabelCon 1 in 1980, when he was bemused by my Vulcan character Selik. You can learn more about Russell and Selik by typing that name "Selik" in the search bar at the left.
